West Windsor ARC

Friends,  There have been many questions regarding administration's final recommendation released last Tuesday. Please see the link below to view the final recommendation, timelines and guidelines for public input regarding the ARC proposal. I encourage you to please provide your input pursuant to the process guidelines so that trustees have all of the information they need from the community when making their final decision. In addition, several members from the school board are hosting a 'non -ARC' town hall this Wednesday at 7pm at Assumption high school (likely in the library room -- will confirm shortly) to discuss the final recommendation and address any questions or concerns you may have. Lastly, there is a delegates meeting on March 1st at 7pm at Assumption where you can express your concerns directly to the trustees before they make their final decision on April 5. http://www.wecdsb.on.ca/arc.html

Sweetheart Brunch and Open House at Cardinal Place

Friends, I received notification from Mike Cardinal, owner of Cardinal Place in Sandwich Town, that he and his group are hosting a brunch and open house at their location on Peter St. just west of Detroit St. It is only $10 (including tax) for an all-you-can-eat brunch on Sunday, February 14 from 10am to 2pm. You can also get a view of their new 3rd floor expansion and all of the good things that are happening there. Regards, Fabio

Resources and Walkability Survey

Friends, See below an email I received from Meagan Hugall, a community coordinator at Our West End, and please take a moment to fill out the survey. Hi everyone, I hope all is well. I’m sending you a link to the Resources & Walkability Survey that one of our Neighbourhood Engagement Assistants designed. It is VERY SHORT and it would be a huge help to us if you took a moment to fill it out. Keep in mind that the survey is for West Windsor residents and that our catchment area is Crawford to Sandwich and Riverside Drive to Tecumseh Road West (roughly *check with me if you live near Malden). If you live inside of this geographic area please help us out  J  Also, if you’re not already doing so please follow us on Facebook, twitter, and Instagram! “Our West End Neighbourhood Renewal” https://www.surveymonkey.com/ r/R36LG8Q Best, Meagan

Sweet Pea's Eats & Treats

Friends, I recently received the email below from a west-end resident. Check it out! "Hello; I’ve been to a new eating place on the West end recently, called, “SWEETIE PIE’S”. It’s a family place, serving breakfast all day and lunch and dinner. The food is fabulous. It’s clean and has a nice décor. The place is located on Mill Street, between Peter and Sandwich, in the small strip mall behind The Farmer’s Market. Check it out, GOOD FOOD. Thanks"

Break-Ins in Bridgeview

Friends, I received some unfortunate news regarding recent break-ins in the Bridgeview area. The good news is that according to residents police were notified and are aware of the recent activity. It's always important to notify authorities and keep your front and back porch lights on at nighttime to increase visibility and help deter crime. I went on crimereports.com and it shows the break-ins discussed above were reported along with others in the past several weeks. It also shows that the west-end is no different than other neighbourhoods in the city when it comes to reported crime. Keep a lookout and get to know your neighbours!! Fabio
