Our West End

Friends, St. Mark's, located on Tecumseh Rd. W. and Campbell Ave., is hosting a Youth Dance on Friday, January 3rd from 7pm - 11pm. The dance is for boys and girls in grades 6 to 8. Tickets are $5 at the door or $3 in advance. You can purchase advance tickets on Fridays from 9am to 12pm at St. Mark's Hall in the basement. Below is an email I received:  Hello Friends; On Tuesday July 9 th  at 2:30 Ambassador Baptist Church will be doing a large flyer distribution for their upcoming VBS to reach the west end children.  If you have some time that you would like to donate PLEASE come out and support a great cause.  If you have others that may be interested please pass this email on!  Let’s rally around these precious people bringing support and unity.  Let’s all show up and surprise them and show just how we do care about the west end.  Love is action!!! FIRST Robotics Competition A few months ago, a group of students from Assumption high school competed in the annual FIRST Robotics Competition held in Toronto. According to its website, www.firstroboticscanada.org , FIRST Robotics is a competition where “high school students team up with the world’s best technology companies to build the most impressive robots you’ve ever seen.”  It goes on to say: Built from scratch in only 6 weeks, these 5-foot tall, 140-pound robots compete in high intensity robo-sports. With bragging rights at stake for schools and the companies that support them, robotics takes on a pro-sports experience. Watch the best of the best in robotics come out to play. Friends, The Bridgeview Community Outreach group held a very successful fundraiser at the Moose Lodge on Tecumseh Rd. W. right next to Bowlero. All proceeds will be used to further develop the group's initiatives in helping youth in the west-end. Below are some pictures from the fundraiser.
