Friends, Below is an email I received from our very own west-end crawlers regarding a can drive they are launching in Olde Sandwich Towne: " West End Crawlers Can Drive 2013 " is launching at Olde Sandwich Towne Festival  September 6th , 7th, & 8th!     Donations of canned goods or non-perishable food items to support West end foods banks, is greatly appreciated!.  We thank the following six Sandwich Street pub/bar/restaurant locations, who have generously agreed to be drop off points, for your convenience:   Rock Bottom Bar & Grill, Buddies, The Barrel House Draught Company & Grill, The Dominion House Tavern (The DH), and  Hurricanes Pub & Grill, who has also agreed to be a  permanent  drop off point for canned goods  year round !     THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!   ~West End Crawlers

Friends,  There will be a Block Party BBQ being organized by the Bridgeview/University area youth, supported by New Beginnings, Our West End, and the Bridgeview Community Outreach Program Inc. We would like to highlight some of the great work being done in our community and will do this by setting up information booths inside the Windsor Amateur Boxing Club. The booths will therefore be protected in case of poor weather. This is an opportunity for agencies to promote their services to youth 12-18 years of age in a relaxed and positive context. We are hoping to attract adolescents from the area by offering a meal, games, and prizes. When: Friday September 27th, 3:30-7:00. Booths set up from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Where: 1899 Grove - Bridgeview Park and Windsor Amateur Boxing Club I will be posting more about this event in the future. In the meantime, please mark your calendars and let's try and get as many youth out as possible.  Fabio 

Friends,  I received this message from a fellow west-ender on Askin Ave.  Hi friends and neighbours. As the summer winds down, it is time once again to look forward to this year's, 19th Annual  Askin Boulevard Labour Day Block Party 5 p.m., on the boulevard in the 400 block of Askin. Bring your lawn chairs and something to share. Flyers will be distributed later as another reminder. Have a great summer!

It's a great cause.  Fabio "Hi folks, If you know of anyone who could have a need for this service please advise them to attend on one of these dates. After this initial launch there may be a continuation on Friday mornings. More details to follow. Also if anyone has new or good used childrens clothing they would like to donate they could drop them off on one of these times and dates."
