Friends, Please see an email I received below form the block captain of the newly formed "Bridge Ave" neighbourhood watch. Fabio Thanks for responding Fabio. Tonight 2 black males saying they represent Ontario Energy Group were knocking on doors in my neighbourhood. One said that there was high energy consumption in area and they were working with Union Gas and Enwin to make sure people equipment needed to be seen to be taken off the list if they were updated energy efficient. I said they were but he kept on insisting and that he wasn't selling anything. I actually let him into my house to inspect which he did superficially and said I was up to date. I always turn these type of people away but he had a different line. A few minutes later I was astounded at my own stupidity. I didn't sign anything but didn't like the fact he was in my home. There is a great group of committed and determined residents who are passionate about the organization and want to play a leading role in defining its future. Friends, Some great news as of late. Our West End Residents Roundtable One of our promises to you was to develop and facilitate a residents roundtable for the west-end. Thanks to the hard work of our community coordinator and fellow west-ender, Tammy Murray, we held our first roundtable meeting Wednesday where neighbours, friends and residents from every corner of the west-end were in attendance, engaged and eager to be part of positive change in our area. We had residents from Sandwich Towne, University area, Bridgeview and the neighbourhoods surrounding St. James gradeschool and Mic Mac Park. I always believed, and yesterday it was confirmed, that our community will be stronger when it is more united. When neighbourhoods west of the bridge are actively engaged with neighbourhoods east of the bridge, and vice versa, our potential is limitless. Friends, I received the email below from Rev. Sue Paulton at St. Mark's on Tecumseh and Campbell: Hi Fabio, We are starting a new Dancersize class at St. Mark’s from  6:30 to 7:30 pm on Monday  evenings.  People pay what they can afford and are welcome to join in even if their wallet is empty on any given week.  Some pay a loonie or toonie and other $5….. whatever works for folks each week.  Can you help us spread the word? Friends,  As you may know, Forster Secondary is slated for closure at the end of this school year. The Greater Essex County District  School Board (GECDSB) is working through the transition process and is running several events throughout the year to bring both Forster and Century together.  The closure of Forster has been a difficult pill to swallow for many, including myself. The community fought vociferously against the closure but unfortunately it wasn't enough.  If you remember, we held town halls, wrote several articles to the Windsor Star and other media sources and applied as much pressure as possible to change what many believed -- and were right -- to be an inevitable decision. With all that said, we now have no choice but to move forward and make the best of the situation before us. Our long-term goal of a new school west of the bridge is not forgotten and will be a priority in future years once there is more certainty with the boarded-up homes, am...
