Request for Proposal – Community Coordinator

POSITION:   Community Coordinator
                        23 month contract position part-time – May 1, 2013          
                        to April 1, 2015

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSBILITIES:
Reporting to the Our West End Chair and Centre for Seniors Windsor, the Community Coordinator will be primarily responsible for initiating, managing and leading community activities already agreed upon in the west-end.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred post-secondary degree or senior year level post-secondary student.
Volunteer experience in the Windsor-Essex community an asset.
Volunteer experience and familiarity with Windsor’s west-end community a strong asset.
Committee and board experience an asset.
Excellent leadership, communication and organization skills.
Flexible work schedule to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or events as required.

DUTIES:
Develop a roundtable comprised of business, labour, community leaders and stakeholders in the community who want to contribute towards making West Windsor a better place to live, work and play.
Develop a parks committee comprised of West Windsor residents who are interested in preserving and maintaining parks in their neighbourhood.
Assisting the Safety Village and Windsor Police in hosting town halls to develop neighbourhood watch groups throughout the west-end.
Working directly with community volunteers and youth in developing an outreach program for youth.
